Safenames Becomes Newest ASACP Corporate Sponsor

LOS ANGELES (July 9, 2021) — ASACP, the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection, is pleased to name Safenames.net as its newest Corporate Sponsor.

Among the digital media industry’s most respected companies, ASACP’s Sponsors serve as excellent examples of how corporate responsibility, ethical operation, and proactive professionalism help to protect minors and other viewers from accidental exposure to age-restricted materials online.

According to the company, Safenames manages its clients’ domain name portfolio, handles disputes, hosts data, and keeps brands one step ahead of the competition.

Founded in 1999, Safenames is U.K.-owned and headquartered, with a global reach and a comprehensive suite of tools for protecting domain names, trademarks, and online brand identities. Safenames helps by identifying and optimizing which domains need to be renewed, redirected, deleted, or their information updated, which reduces expenses on unnecessary domain renewals; ensures that the WHOIS contact details are correct; uncovers any domains registered outside of corporate policy, and finds and fixes domains that are not resolving correctly.

“In a fluid digital age, Safenames enables clients to make their mark on the world by providing a safe and secure framework where their brands are protected,” said Safenames’ CEO Adan McManus. “We engage, we connect, and we share our knowledge to help deliver our client’s aspirations as we strive to be the top service provider in protecting and securing digital brands and platforms.”

“Safenames focus on brand protection aligns with ASACP’s focus on online business protection through child protection, making for a mutually beneficial alliance,” McManus added. “We are proud to become Corporate Sponsors of ASACP and to help it provide a safe space for brands, children, and consumers alike.”

ASACP Executive Director Tim Henning revealed that the nonprofit association’s significant success relies on the continued support it receives from the companies and organizations that embrace a leadership role in the fight to keep children out of and away from adult-oriented materials.

“ASACP’s partners promote online child safety and strive to protect the innocence of youth,” Henning explained. “By educating publishers and stakeholders about the need for protective measures, the association can make a positive, relevant improvement in the safety of children’s daily digital lives.”

ASACP relies on the generous support it receives from sponsors such as Safenames to enable its 25-year-long record of success and to provide its free child protection resources, which includes market-specific Best Practices and a comprehensive Code of Ethics for businesses, app publishers, and all operators of age-restricted websites.

At the pinnacle of ASACP’s achievements are the globally recognized RTA (Restricted To Adults) meta labeling system that helps parents prevent children’s access to adult-oriented webpages and mobile apps and its CP Reporting Tipline, which has earned worldwide respect for processing more than 1 million user reports to date, leading to the takedown of numerous “bad actors” in the online space.

Like all of ASACP’s services, these tools are provided to all website and app publishers free of charge, thanks to the generosity of the association’s sponsors.

“ASACP is delighted to welcome Safenames to our family of sponsors, and we look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship while encouraging other market leaders to join us in carrying out our mission,” Henning concluded. “Sponsors such as Safenames make a meaningful difference in the association’s battle for online child protection — and your company can too.”
